Piazza delle Erbe

Surrounded by buildings whose architecture is often unusual and irregular in terms of height. It was originally much larger but after it became the economic, political and administrative cen-tre it was scaled down to its present-day dimensions. The name of the Piazza delle Erbe comes from the role played by this area in the Della Scala era, when it functioned as the town's economic centre.
